This includes managing tools, workflows, research repositories, design systems, and collaboration between cross-functional teams. Target's Global UX team is a group of design, content, research, and accessibility practitioners and experts, with a passion for improving and innovating our digital experiences for Target's guests, team members, and partners. Here, we pride ourselves on designing tangible, inspiring, and impactful solutions that serve all aspects of our business- and being a part of the team means you will play a critical role for Target's digital experience by increasing ease, simplicity, value, and delight for every touchpoint.
About the Role:
As a Lead UX Operations Manager - AI Enablement, you will help define and operationalize how UX teams design, build, test, govern, and scale AI-enabled and agentic experiences across Target's digital ecosystem. This is a hands-on enablement role focused on helping teams adopt new tools, workflows, and practices with confidence, clarity, and appropriate governance.
Sitting at the intersection of design, technology, and operations, you will translate emerging capabilities into practical ways of working for UX teams. You will lead programs that build AI fluency, guide teams through experimentation and adoption, and create the frameworks, learning experiences, and operating practices needed to scale agentic ways of working responsibly.
You will partner closely with UX, Product, Engineering, Technology, and Learning teams to help practitioners understand what is changing, apply new capabilities to real work, and evolve how teams design and deliver digital experiences.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead operational strategy for agentic building within UX, defining frameworks, workflows, and integration models that help teams responsibly design, test, and scale AI-enabled and agentic experiences.

  • Develop operating models for human-and-agent collaboration, clarifying where human judgment, review, intervention, escalation, accessibility, ethics, and quality assurance are required across the product development lifecycle.

  • Lead pilot programs and experimentation efforts that test new agentic workflows, capture learnings, identify risks, and translate successful patterns into reusable practices, playbooks, and guidance.

  • Measure adoption and effectiveness of new tools and workflows, using data and feedback to refine enablement strategies and demonstrate impact.

  • Partner with L&D teams and UX leadership to deliver AI training programs, workshops, skill development initiatives and learning resources for UX teams.

About You:
  • 7+ years of experience in UX operations, design program management, or with inhouse or agency product design teams

  • Ability to navigate high ambiguity with confidence, using structured thinking, frameworks, and facilitation tools to bring clarity and align stakeholders

  • Strong technical fluency in AI-enabled product development, agentic systems, human-in-the-loop workflows, and the evolving implications of AI for UX practice, product delivery, and team operations

  • Highly data-driven and consistently leverage insights to guide decisions, shape strategy, and measure impact

  • As a systems thinker, you consider the full ecosystem of user needs, business processes, and technical constraints to design thoughtful, scalable solutions

  • Strong change management skills, with the ability to help teams understand, adopt, and sustain new workflows in a rapidly evolving technology environment

  • Excellent visual, verbal, and written storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex technical and operational concepts into clear recommendations, roadmaps, and executive-ready narratives

  • A builder mindset, curiosity for emerging technology, and the ability to turn ambiguity into practical solutions teams can use
