Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience in higher education administration, event coordination, or public relations is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with grant administration, fellowship management, or digital media/audio production is a strong plus.
- Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Program & Fellowship Management: Proven experience coordinating, planning, and executing not just single events, but long-term, multi-tiered training schedules and fellowship cohorts about healthy conflict, dialogue across difference, and free expression.
- Multichannel Communication & Media Literacy: Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in developing communication strategies across social media platforms, managing websites, and overseeing digital audio assets, including podcast distribution.
- VIP Logistics & Diplomacy: Ability to serve as an authentic, diplomatic liaison to a diverse group of stakeholders, including students, campus leadership, national media, high-level donors, and visiting institutional executives or national thought leaders.
- Financial Stewardship & Grant Compliance: Ability to manage multiple fund types (state, foundation, and external capacity-building grants), track specific deliverables, maintain exact record-keeping systems, and process institutional purchasing requests safely within an allocated budget.
- Independence & Judgment: Ability to exercise excellent judgment, maintain strict confidentiality, multi-task in a fluid environment, and display deep tact and diplomacy during sensitive civic programming.
- Technical Proficiency: Facility with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with campus database systems.

The Civility Initiative promotes healthy conflict and dialogue across difference on campus and in the wider community through events, trainings, workshops, and more. This position is the point person for those efforts.
This position will be renewable up to three years and potentially beyond.
