What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Temporary Digital Accessibility Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Temporary Digital Accessibility Specialist, you need a solid understanding of web accessibility standards (like WCAG), experience with HTML/CSS, and familiarity with assistive technologies, often supported by relevant training or certifications. Proficiency with tools such as screen readers, accessibility evaluation software, and content management systems is typically required. Strong attention to detail, effective communication, and problem-solving abilities help you identify issues and advocate for accessible solutions. These skills are crucial to ensure digital content is usable by all individuals, meeting legal requirements and fostering inclusivity.

What are some common challenges faced in a temporary digital accessibility role, and how can they be addressed?

In a temporary digital accessibility role, one common challenge is quickly adapting to the organization's specific digital platforms and accessibility standards. Since the position is short-term, there is often limited time to familiarize yourself with internal tools and workflows. To address this, it’s important to proactively seek out documentation, ask clarifying questions early, and collaborate closely with permanent team members such as developers and UX designers. Effective communication and a willingness to learn on the fly can help you make a meaningful impact within a limited timeframe.

Their responsibilities typically include conducting accessibility audits, recommending solutions, and helping organizations comply with standards like the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and legal requirements such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We are partnering with a leading organization that is dedicated to empowering individuals and institutions to achieve their financial goals through innovative solutions and exceptional service. This company is at the forefront of digital transformation, constantly enhancing its platforms to deliver seamless and impactful experiences to its users. Join a team committed to excellence and making a tangible difference in the financial landscape.
Are you a master orchestrator of digital experiences, ready to take the reins in a fast-paced environment? This pivotal role offers you the chance to drive the end-to-end delivery of critical digital experiences, directly impacting how users engage with essential content and services. You will be the central figure ensuring that every digital launch is timely, high-quality, and seamlessly executed, contributing directly to user satisfaction and the strategic goals of the organization.
What You'll Do:
As a key member of the digital experience team, you will be instrumental in coordinating the journey of digital content from conception to launch. Your expertise will ensure that experiences are not only delivered efficiently but also meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. You will:
  • Orchestrate End-to-End Delivery: Coordinate the entire lifecycle of digital experiences, including creation, editorial review, compliance approval, publishing, quality assurance, and launch. You'll ensure each stage meets defined criteria for smooth progression.
* Develop Strategic Plans: Build and maintain comprehensive delivery plans and production schedules, including workback plans, key milestones, and cutover strategies, for various digital experiences and releases.
* Manage Intake & Prioritization: Oversee the intake and prioritization of experience requests, verifying that all necessary inputs like content, assets, metadata, and tagging are ready before production begins.
* Proactive Risk Management: Track dependencies, risks, issues, and decisions across all partner teams. Proactively identify and escalate blockers, driving timely resolutions to keep projects on track.
* Facilitate Cross-Functional Alignment: Lead working sessions, status meetings, and stakeholder updates to ensure consistent alignment on scope, sequencing, and launch readiness across diverse teams.
* Ensure Quality & Compliance: Collaborate with content authors, user experience designers, and platform teams to validate publishing requirements and confirm that experiences adhere to quality, accessibility, and compliance standards before going live.
* Support Launch & Optimization: Coordinate launch execution and post-launch stabilization activities, including checklists and monitoring. Capture lessons learned to continuously refine processes, playbooks, and templates.
* Drive Operational Readiness: Assess and document change impacts on content teams and stakeholders, translating them into actionable plans. Create and maintain standard operating procedures, checklists, and workflows for repeatable and efficient experience production.
* Enable Adoption & Governance: Support communications and enablement for new publishing processes and tools, coordinating feedback loops to improve adoption. Promote disciplined governance and documentation, clarifying decision rights, approval routing, and escalation paths.
Must-Have Qualifications:
  • Extensive Delivery Coordination: 5+ years of proven experience coordinating the delivery of digital experiences (web, content management systems, marketing platforms), specifically covering content creation workflows, reviews, approvals, publishing, and launch execution.
* Project Management Expertise: Strong project management skills, including the ability to build integrated plans, manage dependencies, and rigorously track status, risks, issues, and decisions. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and release coordination is essential.
* Exceptional Attention to Detail: Highly detail-oriented with strong quality instincts, capable of managing multiple workstreams while maintaining accuracy in requirements, checklists, and publishing specifics.
* Proactive & Self-Motivated: An independent and self-driven individual who can identify gaps, anticipate risks, drive follow-through, and keep work progressing effectively without close supervision.
* Strong Stakeholder Management: Excellent facilitation and communication skills (written and verbal), with comfort coordinating across marketing, engineering, and governance/approval groups.
* Change Management Acumen: Experience supporting change management initiatives (process transitions, new tools, training/support) and the adaptability to navigate evolving priorities, scope, or workflows.
* Proficiency with Collaboration Tools: Demonstrated proficiency with common delivery and collaboration tools (e.g., project tracking software, documentation platforms, spreadsheets, communication tools) and the ability to quickly learn new platforms.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
  • Large-Scale Project Experience: Experience supporting large-scale web projects, platform migrations, or modernization programs, including coordinating across multiple release tracks.
* Modern Web Stack Knowledge: Working knowledge of modern web development architectures and how componentized design systems and templates influence content production and publishing.
* Content Platform Experience: Hands-on experience with content management systems or content platform programs, including concepts like headless CMS, digital asset management integrations, tagging/metadata, and routing/approvals.
* Regulated Industry Experience: Experience operating in regulated environments where stringent workflow, approval, and compliance requirements significantly shape publishing and release practices.
* Governance & Playbook Creation: Ability to create lightweight governance frameworks and scalable playbooks that enhance throughput and predictability for experience delivery.
