Job Summary

Roane State is seeking part-time tutors to work in the Learning Center and the Learning Support Lab. The positions are subject to available funding. Hours of work will depend upon demand for services and may vary over the course of the semester. Depending on enrollment and course offerings each semester, positions are potentially available on all campuses and online.

Job Duties

  • Provide tutoring sessions in person, over Zoom, and through D2L for students and staff at the RSCC Learning Centers. Provide tutoring consultations for small groups when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicant must have completed coursework or degree in the specialized area(s) to be tutored. Applicants generally must obtain a GPA of 3.5 or higher in the area of specialization and a 3.0 or higher overall.
Primary subject areas are English (writing and reading), math, and sciences (anatomy and physiology, biology, chemistry, and physics).

Preferred Qualifications

Computer skills in Microsoft applications.
Experience using Zoom.
Experience in course management systems (namely, D2L).
