UW Medical Center-Montlake - Admitting Department has an outstanding opportunity to hire a Patient Services Specialist Lead.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 50% FTE (20 hours per week)

  • Friday and Saturday, 5:15 AM-3:45 PM

  • Day shift

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Serve as the primary resource for training, guiding, and auditing the work of Patient Services Specialists (PSS)

  • Support front desk operations and ensure smooth patient flow

  • Greet and assist patients and families to ensure accurate registration, rooming, and identification

  • Collect correct demographic and financial information, including consents and agreements

  • Verify insurance coverage and coordinate with departments, external facilities, and Financial Counseling

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collect and verify demographic and financial info, obtain consents, and complete registration in Epic ADT

  • Coordinate referrals, manage medical records, and schedule interpreter services

  • Triage phone calls and ensure accurate patient identification and admission

  • Perform front desk tasks such as check-in, discharge, appointment scheduling, and payment collection

  • Float between departments as needed and take on lead responsibilities or other assigned duties

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school graduation or equivalent

  • Three years of healthcare or administrative experience

  • Equivalent education/experience may substitute for stated requirements
