What You'll Do

The Technical Training Specialist coordinates department training and documentation to ensure employees are properly trained and that all job-related materials are accurate, current, and aligned with work practices. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, delivering, and overseeing required training programs such as annual compliance training, on-the-job technical training, and new employee orientation. The role also ensures consistency across work orders, procedures, job aids, plant control procedures, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) documents.

  • Coordinationofthefollowingtrainingasrequiredoras-needed: Safety GMPTechnicalandproceduraltraining Newequipment,businessconditions,regulatoryreformorupdatedprocesses/procedures.
  • Ensureconsistencyoftechnicaltraining.
  • Develop,update,andtrackon-the-jobtechnicaltraining forallnewdepartmentpersonnelorthoseassumingnewpositionswithinthedepartment.
  • EnsurethereisconsistencybetweenthemethodsdescribedintheWorkOrders,JobProcedures,SturgisPlantControlProcedures,andJobSafety Analysis.
  • Monitorandtrackthedepartmenttrainingactivitiesoftheareasupported.
  • Maintaincloseliaisonwiththeareatheysupportaswellasallotherareasoftheplant.
  • Thiswouldalsoincludepeersoremployeesattheothersites.
  • Partnerwithmanagementtoensuretheutilizationofthemostefficientresources,bothinternalandexternal,toaccomplishthetrainingobjectives.

  • Involvementwithpersonnelissuesanddisciplinaryactionmayoccurasitrelatestopropertraininganddocumentationofthetrainingrecords.
  • ATechnicalTrainingSpecialistmaybeaskedtoprovidethesupervisorormanageroftheareatheysupportwithaconfidential,objective,andimpartialassessmentofhowemployeesareprogressingintheirtraining.
  • Create content using various video, photo and content creation software
  • Navigate site Learning Management System and Quality Document System to ensure compliance for site training materials

You'll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Bachelors degree in business, science, food technology, education and development, or human resources preferred OR equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing principles and techniques as well as various techniques for training both technical and non-technical subjects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a Job Trainer or Learning Mentor
