Fisher Phillips, a premier international labor and employment law firm, is seeking an Applications Trainer to join a dynamic, forward-thinking IT team that values innovation, collaboration, and client-focused solutions.
The Applications Trainer is a key member of the firm's Technology Transformation team, responsible for designing, developing, delivering, and maintaining written and oral training programs for the firm's applications. This role supports adoption, effective use, and continuous learning across the firm by creating clear training materials, facilitating live and virtual sessions, and providing practical guidance for attorneys and business professionals.
This role will have specific responsibility for training users on ChatGPT Enterprise and other approved AI tools, including responsible use, prompt development, productivity workflows, and firm governance expectations. The ideal candidate combines strong instructional design skills, excellent presentation abilities, and practical experience training business users on enterprise applications and AI-enabled tools.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, deliver, and maintain written and oral training programs for firm applications, including live sessions, virtual training, recorded content, quick reference guides, job aids, and other learning materials.
  • Design and facilitate training for ChatGPT Enterprise, custom GPTs, Skills, connectors, and other approved AI tools, with a focus on practical use cases, responsible adoption, and firm-approved workflows.
  • Partner with Technology Transformation, IT, practice groups, administrative departments, and business stakeholders to identify training needs, define learning objectives, and create role-based training plans.
  • Conduct new user training, rollout training, refresher sessions, and targeted coaching to support adoption of new and existing applications.
  • Translate complex technology concepts into clear, accessible instruction for attorneys, legal professionals, and business services teams with varying levels of technical experience.
  • Create, update, and organize training documentation, including step-by-step instructions, FAQs, knowledge articles, presentation materials, and internal communications.
  • Support application launches and enhancements by developing training plans, coordinating user communications, and providing post-launch adoption support.
  • Gather feedback from learners and stakeholders to measure training effectiveness and continuously improve training content and delivery methods.
  • Collaborate with application owners and support teams to ensure training materials remain current with system updates, policy changes, and evolving best practices.
  • Promote consistent, secure, and compliant use of firm applications, including AI tools, in accordance with firm policies, data privacy requirements, and responsible AI guidance.
  • Stay informed on evolving legal technology, AI tools, instructional design methods, and adult learning best practices.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Information Technology, Communications, or a related field; or equivalent work experience in a complex environment.
  • 2+ years of experience with the following
    • Hands-on experience training users on ChatGPT Enterprise or a comparable enterprise AI platform is required.
    • Experience training users on various AI tools, productivity platforms, and technology-enabled workflows.
  • Experience developing and delivering written and oral training for enterprise applications in a professional service, legal, corporate, or similarly
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, writing, and instructional design skills, including the ability to create clear user-facing documentation and training materials.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and adapt training delivery to different roles, experience levels, and learning needs.
  • Experience developing training content for multiple formats, including in-person sessions, virtual sessions, recordings, written guides, and knowledge base articles.
  • Understanding responsible AI use, data privacy, security, and access control considerations when training users on AI and enterprise applications.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Experience
  • Prior experience in a law firm, accounting firm, or other professional services organization is highly preferred.
  • Experience on legal-specific applications and systems is a plus (e.g., DMS, timekeeping, case management, docketing, document automation, or collaboration platforms).
  • Experience supporting enterprise application rollouts, change management initiatives, or technology adoption programs.
  • Experience with learning management systems, digital adoption platforms, video authoring tools, or knowledge management platforms is a plus.
