The role, at a glance:
We are seeking a motivated IT Support Technician I with some prior experience to join our technical support team in maintaining our organization's desktop and mobile infrastructure. In this role, you will provide first-tier technical support to end users, implement effective troubleshooting, and carry out essential IT tasks. You will work under the guidance of senior technicians while applying and expanding your skills in a Microsoft environment, with some Apple and Linux.
How you'll contribute:
  • Resolve user inquiries and technical issues via phone, email, and ticketing system
  • Perform thorough troubleshooting for hardware and software problems
  • Manage account setup, password resets, and access management
  • Escalate complex technical issues to higher-tier support personnel with proper documentation
  • Execute software installation and updates on end-user devices
  • Conduct regular maintenance tasks on computers, printers, and other peripheral devices
  • Maintain accurate inventory of IT equipment and supplies
  • Configure and deploy workstations for new employees
  • Create comprehensive documentation for technical issues and their resolutions
  • Implement established IT procedures and protocols
  • Participate in training to expand technical knowledge and skills
  • Master company systems and standard operating procedures
  • Deliver concise training to end users on software applications
  • Develop how-to guides for frequently asked questions
  • Support users with Microsoft 365 applications and other standard software

You'll also support by:
  • Assisting with minor projects under supervision of the IT Manager
  • Identifying potential improvements to current support processes
  • Participating actively in team meetings and contributing ideas

A successful candidate should have:
  • 1-3 years in an IT support role
  • Associates degree in computer science, information technology, or related field preferred
  • Solid understanding of Windows and macOS operating systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer hardware components and peripherals
  • Understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting
  • Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Strong customer service orientation and a positive attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze issues and implement appropriate solutions
  • CompTIA A+ certification preferred; additional certifications a plus

Work environment:
  • This is an onsite position based in Beaverton, OR
