Job Title

Technical Solutions Engineer

Position Overview

Shaw Industries is seeking a Technical Solutions Engineer I to support our commercial and residential sales teams by delivering technical product solutions, coordinating across internal teams, and strengthening how our products are specified and supported in the field. This role offers flexibility with onsite collaboration based in either Dalton, GA or Cartersville, GA, along with occasional travel to customer locations. It's a great opportunity for someone who is curious, customer-focused, and excited to build deeper expertise in flooring systems, product performance, and technical selling.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement testing plans with internal and external teams to support product specifications.
  • Advise customers on flooring specifications, building code considerations, and building acoustics.
  • Lead customer calls and meetings alongside the sales team; manage follow-up actions to keep projects moving.
  • Create and present technical documentation, training materials, and product presentations for customers and internal partners.
  • Contribute to the implementation of innovative solutions that improve customer outcomes and technical support effectiveness.
  • Support internal business partners as needed (examples may include training customer service teams on technical specifications, partnering with marketing on technical content, and coordinating with labs/technical teams to analyze data).
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or at least 7 years of experience of flooring installation project management experience

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and a willingness to learn technical concepts quickly.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and explain complex concepts to end users and customers.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10-15% (local and across the U.S.).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Green Belt trained (required within the first 12 months of employment).
  • 1-2 years of experience in a technical, sales support, or customer service role.
  • Exposure to flooring installation or technical coordination.
