What you will do in this role

As a technical project manager, you will be responsible for establishing a lightweight, agile, project governance (tools, templates, cadence). Additionally, you will need to ensure that you are managing the inventory of active projects and assessing the overall project health (what's at risk, what's blocked, and what's working). This role will require coordination across functional disciplines and must be able to build trust with stakeholders. Experience working with external vendors is needed to be successful in this role. This role reports to the IS Strategist and is located on-site at our Cary, NC office.

Responsibilities

  • Project Portfolio: All technology-enabled business initiatives, from concept through delivery
  • Vendor Coordination: Managing consulting relationships, holding vendors accountable, ensuring value
  • Stakeholder Management: Business leaders, executives, cross-functional teams - keeping everyone aligned
  • Budget & Timeline Accountability: Projects deliver what they promised, when they promised, for the budget expected
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identifying problems early, escalating appropriately, driving resolution
  • Delivery Discipline: Building project management capability.


Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Project/Program Management
    • 5 - 7 years managing technology-enabled business initiatives
    • PMP or similar certification a plus
    • Experience managing both internal teams and external vendors
    • Comfortable with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches
    • Experience managing $100k - multi-million-dollar projects
    • Experience in implementing project management discipline in organizations
  • Technical Fluency
    • Understands ERP implementations (D365 a plus). Specific experience with D365 and Microsoft ecosystem a plus
    • Understands technical documentation and architectural discussions
    • Understands basic system architecture
    • Understands SDLC, integrations, API/EDI
  • Business Acumen
    • Ag-chem, chemical, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing experience strongly preferred
    • Understands and can challenge business requirements constructively
    • Understands ROI, CapEx/OpEx, and can make sound business cases
