Reports To: Director of IT Business Systems
Role Overview:
The Technology Manager is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of The Garrett Companies' technology infrastructure, ensuring that systems, hardware, software, and end-user support functions operate efficiently and reliably across all locations. This role works in close coordination with the Director of IT Business Systems and the company's managed IT provider to execute IT operations, manage technology projects, and deliver a high standard of technical support to the organization.
The Technology Manager plays a hands-on role in maintaining the company's technology, from device management and help desk support to system administration and process improvement, to ensure that technology consistently supports the business to operate at its best.
Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for technology support across all company locations, coordinating with the managed IT provider (Ciscom) to resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues in a timely manner.
โ€ข Manage and maintain inventory of all company technology assets, including computers, iPads, mobile devices, and software licenses.
โ€ข Support the onboarding and offboarding of employees by supplying devices, accounts, and system access, overseeing all setup and coordination with Office Manager.
โ€ข Assist with the administration of cloud-based business applications, including Microsoft 365, and other core platforms used across the organization.
โ€ข Support the implementation and maintenance of IT security practices, including endpoint protection, access controls, and compliance monitoring.
โ€ข Support IT projects, including system upgrades, new software rollouts, and office technology installations.
โ€ข Train and support employees on technology tools, platforms, and best practices.
โ€ข Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and user experience.
โ€ข Maintain documentation for IT systems, processes, and configurations.
โ€ข Partner with the Director of IT Business Systems to evaluate and recommend new technology solutions that support organizational growth and efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree is preferred in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
โ€ข Experience in IT operations, systems administration, or technology management.
โ€ข Proficiency in Microsoft 365 administration (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, Entra ID).
โ€ข Experience with end-user device management and IT asset tracking.
โ€ข Working knowledge of IT security principles, including endpoint protection and access management.
โ€ข Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools preferred.
โ€ข Experience working with managed IT service providers preferred.
โ€ข Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
โ€ข Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
โ€ข Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
