In the US, high-paying roles such as senior executive positions (e.g., CEOs, CFOs), successful entrepreneurs, and top-tier investment bankers can earn $500,000 or more annually. Certain specialized medical professionals, like neurosurgeons and anesthesiologists, and highly experienced tech managers with executive responsibilities may also reach this level, especially with bonuses and stock options. Achieving this income typically requires extensive experience, advanced skills, and often leadership or ownership roles.

In most organizations, they spend a portion of their time on code reviews, architectural decisions, and technical problem-solving, while also dedicating significant energy to mentoring, conducting one-on-ones, and facilitating team collaboration. The exact split can vary depending on company size and project phase, but successful Tech Managers prioritize clear communication and delegation to ensure both technical goals and team development are met. This role offers opportunities to influence both technology direction and team culture.
