Job description

22nd July, 2026
Full-Time Nanny for Toddler & Infant in Chelsea, NYC
Start Date: ASAP (with flexible transition timeline)
Location: Chelsea, NYC (local NYC candidates preferred)
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (with flexibility to expand up to 50 hours/week as needed)
Specific: $40-$45/hour DOE | Guaranteed 40 hours/week (opportunity to expand to 50 hours/week) | Overtime + benefits
A warm, creative Chelsea family is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and genuinely confident full-time nanny to join their household long-term. This role is ideal for a seasoned nanny who thrives in managing multiple age groups, brings proactive problem-solving skills, and loves being a trusted partner to engaged parents. They are excited to welcome a nanny who brings warmth, emotional intelligence, and the confidence to independently manage both children's needs -someone who truly becomes part of the family team.
The Role
This is a full-time position designed for an experienced, proactive nanny who can confidently care for both a toddler and an infant with independence and thoughtfulness. The core schedule is Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, reflecting the family's current lifestyle. This family has a dynamic lifestyle and occasionally needs flexibility for travel, special events, or summer transitions. They are thoughtful planners and work collaboratively to ensure a balanced, sustainable arrangement.
A typical structure includes:
  • Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
  • Opportunity to expand to 50 hours/week as needed for special events or travel
  • Summer relocation requirement: July and part of August to the family's 2nd home accessible via a train ride.
  • Flexible arrangement during summer-options include commuting back and forth or staying on-site; the family will work with the right candidate on what works best
  • Occasional travel with the family during the year
Key Responsibilities
  • Full care for both children: Managing the toddler's school pickup, afternoon activities, and developmental needs while supporting the eight-month-old's routines, meals, and developmental milestones
  • Proactive household management: Staying ahead of supplies, inventory (diapers, snacks, etc.), clothing needs, and planning-anticipating needs before they become problems
  • Age-appropriate activities: Planning and executing engaging, developmentally appropriate outings for the toddler (parks, classes, playdates) while managing the infant's schedule
  • Independent problem-solving: Making thoughtful decisions about daily logistics, routines, and child-related needs with minimal day-to-day direction
  • Supporting transitions: Helping both children through transitions, routines, and age-appropriate independence building
  • Meal and snack preparation: Child-related meal/snack prep, light organization, and tidying
  • Travel and summer care: Relocating to the family's home during July and part of August, with flexibility on logistics
  • Clear communication: Maintaining thoughtful, proactive communication with parents about the children's days, milestones, and any concerns
  • Being part of the team: Contributing to a warm, collaborative household environment where the nanny is valued as an important family partner
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experienced and seasoned: Minimum 3-5 years of professional nanny experience with proven ability to manage multiple age groups confidently and independently
  • Naturally confident with both toddlers and infants
  • Proactive and detail-oriented: Thinks ahead, anticipates needs, and manages household logistics independently-diapers, snacks, planning, and supplies are never a surprise
  • Doesn't require micromanaging: Can take direction well but thrives with independence; capable of making daily decisions thoughtfully and reporting back to parents with confidence
  • Emotionally intelligent and communicative: Reads the room, understands family dynamics, and communicates clearly and professionally with involved parents
  • Physically active and engaging: Loves hands-on play, gets on the floor, explores, and can keep up with an active, social toddler
  • Organized and resourceful: Comfortable problem-solving, planning activities, and staying on top of daily logistics
  • Flexible and dependable: Reliable, team-oriented, and comfortable with occasional travel and summer relocation to Massachusetts
  • A genuine dog lover: The family has one sweet-but vocal-pup! (Please note: no cats, as the family has a severe household allergy.)
  • Seeking stability and meaning: Looking for a long-term role where you'll feel truly appreciated, trusted, and valued as part of the family
Compensation & Benefits
  • $40-$45/hour depending on experience
  • Guaranteed 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM)
  • Opportunity to expand to 50 hours/week for special events, travel, or as the family's needs evolve
  • Overtime paid accordingly
  • MetroCard provided
  • Paid vacation, holidays, and sick days
  • Additional overnight stipend when traveling to Massachusetts or on family trips
  • Flexible summer arrangement (commuting or on-site stay-to be discussed)
This is a truly special opportunity for an experienced career nanny who wants to feel appreciated, trusted, and deeply valued.
If you're a seasoned, confident nanny seeking a long-term role with kind, engaged parents in a beautiful Chelsea home-with the added adventure of summer in Massachusetts-this may be exactly the right fit.
