As an intern, you'll have the chance to apply your leadership and technical skills on meaningful projects that make a real impact. Union Pacific is looking for someone with a learning mindset, keen attention to detail, and strong organizational skills. Your internship will support Union Pacific's regulatory and compliance obligations related to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) within the Health and Medical Team. The estimated wage for this position is $21.00-$25.00 per hour. Final rate of pay will be based on several factors including year of study, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
Accountabilities
  • Optimize FMLA Processes: Refine and enhance our FMLA workflows and communication strategies.
  • Contribute to exciting company initiatives by managing projects and handling special administrative tasks.
  • Gain hands-on experience with essential tasks, processes, and customer service activities within our department.
  • Support Management teams by providing valuable administrative assistance to department managers and learn from their expertise.
  • Manage Data and Documents: Develop your skills in data entry and document organization, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Build and strengthen a network of professional contacts within departments and across the company
  • Assist with project management for various company initiatives and complete administrative tasks and special projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications - Required
  • College credits equivalent to one year toward an undergraduate degree
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic organization, prioritization and time/project management skills

Qualifications - Preferred
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree with a focus in Business, Human Resources, Legal Studies/Pre-Employment Law, or related field.

Physical and Mental Job Requirements
  • This position requires extended periods of sitting and extended hours in front of computer screens
  • Maintains concentration, focuses on tasks and can make timely decisions
