Job description

The Opportunity:

As a member of the Completions team, you will be responsible for planning and executing completions activities in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner. You will have the opportunity to participate in all phases of the completions process including design, planning, execution and review across a variety of areas within the Canadian basin.

  • Job location: Calgary, Alberta *
  • Shift schedule: 5x2, 8-hour shifts - Monday to Friday
  • Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Plan and program completions operations safely, cost effectively and in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements
  • Prepare accurate programs, along with detailed and accurate cost estimates and review well files to generate drilling, completion and well servicing history
  • Complete detailed area reviews, analyze offset data and new technologies to develop optimized completions techniques and frac designs, and present peer reviews on area development and well designs
  • Work in conjunction with and provide leadership to asset teams to effectively design, plan and budget project
  • Provide support during completions operations and assist the Operations Superintendent with daily operations, planning and vendor performance analysis
  • Complete project reviews and lookbacks to evaluate the effectiveness of projects to optimize current and future projects

What You Bring to the Role: 

  • 2-10+ years of experience with Completions and/or Well Servicing activities
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGA)
  • Experience with horizontal multi-stage fracturing drilling and completions operations
  • Strong project management, communication, organization and time management skills
