Overview

Selective Insurance is seeking a Subrogation Managing Attorney for our Hamilton, NJ office. This individual in this position is responsible for directing the activities of the Subrogation legal office. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities


Responsibilities
  • Balance managerial functions with the potential handling of a small caseload.
  • Liaison between Claims Department and Staff Counsel
  • Establish department procedures and standards.
  • Directs the activities and provides managerial support for Senior Trail Attorney, Trial Attorney, and Associate Trial Attorney.
  • Analyze legal office procedures and policies for efficiency and effectiveness and proposes improvements when warranted, ensuring effective implementation of those changes.
  • Communicate and support corporate policies and strategies to staff counsel employees and addresses any concerns regarding these policies or strategies.
  • Chair weekly staff meetings.
  • Respond to Claim Department requests.
  • Prepare subrogation analytics and provide detailed analysis to the regional director and VP.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Explorer or similar required.
  • Typing skills required.
  • Legal case management software experience preferred.
  • Use of provided AI required.
  • Excellent customer service, writing and oral communication skills required.
  • Must have valid state-issued driver's license in good standing.

Education and Experience

  • College degree with 10 years subrogation legal experience.
  • JD and admission to practice law in NJ, NY, MD, PA or CT.

Pay Range
USD $163,000.00 - USD $211,000.00 /Yr.
