Location:

This is a 100% remote position. The position may be hybrid if the employee is local, in the San Diego, California region.

Hybrid work model: 60% on-site as needed, 40% remote.

General Summary:

The Subcontractor Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of subcontractor relationships and agreements. The incumbent in this role will lead the development, negotiation, and administration of subcontract agreements while ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies. This position is accountable for mitigating risk, and ensuring subcontracted work is delivered safely, on schedule, within scope, and within budget. The Subcontractor Manager will collaborate with internal stakeholders to support contract execution, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires proactive leadership to monitor compliance and manage contract and business credentials.

Supervision Level:

  • Reports to Director, Network Communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages and administers subcontract agreements from initiation through closeout.
  • Leads negotiation of subcontract terms, pricing, and conditions to achieve favorable outcomes while mitigating risk.
  • Ensures subcontract agreements comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Develops and maintains subcontractor scopes of work, deliverables, and performance metrics.
  • Monitors subcontractor performance, including safety, quality, and cost compliance.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and mitigates risks associated with subcontractor execution and contractual obligations.
  • Collaborates across teams to support subcontracting strategies and execution.
  • Resolves subcontractor disputes, claims, and performance issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Conducts subcontractor evaluations, audits, and performance reviews.
  • Supports sourcing, prequalification, and selection of subcontractors.
  • Maintains accurate contract documentation, records, and reporting.
  • Drives continuous improvement in subcontract management processes, tools, and compliance practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
