Overview
Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) plays a critical role in operationalizing Microsoft's mission, driving digital transformation with our commercial customers. Our Microsoft consulting and support business play a pivotal role and help deploying mission critical workloads across our Federal customers, and deliver world class support.
This Individual contributor position, based in our Microsoft Federal team, supports the local sales go to market and operating unit. This unique and exciting role will be responsible for driving deep business insight to influence decision making that drives near-term revenue and scorecard accountability, optimization and long-term sustainability. The role will have a blend of rhythm of the business (RoB) activities, as well as analytics and white space projects. Building a healthy culture with your team, becoming a trusted advisor with your business partners and senior leaders. The role will require disciplined time management, driving for results and creativity in problem solving are critical attributes for success in this role. Collaborative skills are also key, as there is frequent communication and coordination with finance communities across the US subsidiary, Corporate/HQ and Engineering to scale insights and ensure broader success. Responsibilities
The Enterprise Group Finance Manager is the role in Field Finance that is aligned to analyze and drive the Enterprise Segment financial performance. It looks at revenue across all solution areas and products, and is seen as a path to commercial director with focus on coaching and mentoring new team members and enhancing people management skills. The role ensures a unified and high-performing team even in an IC role while building the foundation for people management roles.
The Finance manager drives and influences deal specific investments in partnership with field leaders and investment controller. The role creates high-quality deal and segment analytics, particularly in the realm of Gen AI, while also being a part of customer engagements under the Modern Finance umbrella. In partnership with Area compliance lead, the role ensures compliance and integrity across all
dealings, promoting a culture of transparency and trust while proactively managing risks in high-stake deals.
The Finance manager partners across functions to deliver operational excellence and business growth. Specifically, the role engages with Account teams and Industry leaders, with Sales Excellence and Deal Desk to drive optimal performance in the Enterprise segment. The role also involves deep community engagement and thought leadership, providing strategic feedback and insights that help identify and capitalize (i.e., whitespace) on new business opportunities.
Key functions include
  • Aspiration landing: Land budgets and engage with Industry leaders in building execution plan for reaching North star/ Aspiration.
  • Forecast Precision: Ensures accuracy in forecasting across solution areas, maintaining precision of critical workloads in partnership with CSAs.
  • Business Performance: Highlight performance drivers ensuring action against key metrics to optimize outcomes.
  • Pipeline Acceleration: Drive pipeline Rigor to accelerate top of the funnel & Qualified pipeline across all critical workloads

Protect
  • Drives the right tone from executive leadership and ensures strict adherence and understanding of Microsoft policies on risk and compliance. Influences leadership to ensure compliance is a top priority and modeled throughout the organization.
  • Directs team and holds others accountable to ensure financial control processes, policies, instruments, and procedures are executed.
  • Guides team and encourages others to identify and share risks to compliance and take steps to mitigate.
  • Drives a compliant culture through actions and decisions to instill trust. Advocates, educates and promotes best practices and new developments.
  • Champions Microsoft privacy, security, and ethical standards. Advances key compliance initiatives.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.

  • Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate's citizenship will be verified with a valid passport.

Additional or preferred qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 12+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.
  • 3+ years work experience in matrix-based organization.
  • 3+ years work experience in the technology or software industry.

Financial Analysis IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.
