Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Execution Manager to lead the cross-functional success of construction projects across strategic market growth opportunities. This role is responsible for overseeing the execution of complex projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and driving operational excellence. This role is accountable for leading project execution teams and coordinating project documentation. The ideal candidate will be a Certified Project Manager (PMP or equivalent) with a proven track record of managing cross-functional teams and delivering results in a fast-paced environment (construction experience preferred).
Key Responsibilities:
  • On a regular basis, is responsible for managing the delivery of projects to meet schedule, cost, quality and safety objectives to the full satisfaction of customers. This involves planning, executing, controlling and closing out projects. Using good knowledge of business and management principles leads the project planning, budgeting and resource allocation, through discussions with clients to define the scope of the project, deliverables and timing.
  • Reviews the project with the Project Team and regularly meets with the Project Team for updates on deliverables against plan.
  • Leads the delivery of the project scope and the management of risk. This includes proper management of deliverables within estimated timeframe and notifying management of issues, which could potentially impact the cost, and schedule of the project.
  • Arrange and lead meetings to coordinate the requirements of, and progress by designers, suppliers and construction.
  • Maintain close liaison with project teams on matters involving design, schedules, costing, and other related issues. Provide immediate and higher management with regular project reports. Monitor, evaluate and report on cost and schedule, and manage changes. Review cost variance reports, provide explanations and recommendations for disposition of variances, and take corrective actions when required. Evaluate project plans at every stage for project risk and develop mitigation plans.
  • Maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders and cooperate in exchange of relevant information as required to meet the project objectives. Arrange and chair meetings involving appropriate stakeholders with a given project. Guide and direct discussions involving internal staff, contractors, manufacturers, suppliers, to efficiently and effectively meet project objectives.
  • Coordinate the preparation of project turnover documentation and ensure completeness. Document and address outstanding project deficiencies.
  • Manages and reports on project performance to management and other stakeholders.
  • Authorizes project expenditures, e.g. purchase orders, invoices and expense claims, within limits of delegated authority.
  • Will oversee multiple projects and will be accountable for all facets of the assigned project(s)
  • Responsible for internal and external project communication through frequent project reporting, informal and formal presentations and written reports.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, setting priorities, evaluating and managing risks and monitoring performance.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate project risks and issues proactively.
  • Coordinate internal teams and external entities to ensure seamless execution.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor project performance and efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to project management best practices and organizational standards. Maintain an awareness of technological advancements in project management, engineering and construction fields. Review technical publications and other publications. Communicate with project management counterparts internally and externally to discuss views on improved processes, designs, products, methods and techniques.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of construction and heavy industrial experience in project management or a related leadership role, specifically, in developing project requirements and plans; preparing cost estimates; participating in contract bidding and award processes, managing projects in planning, execution and closeout phases.
  • Requires a knowledge of project management principles, specifically the 5 primary project phases (Identification, Initiation, Definition, Execution, Closeout).
  • Requires experience in managing conflicting priorities of scope, schedule, cost and quality.
  • Requires knowledge of business principles to provide project cost accounting, cost estimates and forecasts as it relates to project management.
  • Requires knowledge of commercial contracting methods, contract management, construction methods, codes and standards, quality assurance and health and safety.
  • Requires strong organizational skills.
  • Requires experience and ability as a team player to understand and manage the interrelationships of various internal and external groups in order to facilitate objectives and ensure projects satisfy stakeholder requirements.
  • Experience in managing projects of increasing complexity is considered a necessary requirement; project complexity would normally be defined by multiple-contract, multiple stakeholder projects with schedule constraints.
  • Ability to appropriately manage multiple ~5 projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Asana).
  • Must possess a valid driver's license in good standing.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree (MBA or related field) is a plus but not required.
  • Project Management Certificate (PMP, CAMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
  • Experience in (e.g., engineering, construction, manufacturing, logistics, technology).
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous process improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, face-paced, demanding environment.
  • Experience implementing and using artificial intelligence (AI) platforms to enhance project efficiency.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) concepts.

Travel:
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% of time to project sites and client locations.
