Job description

Position Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for leading and executing mining service projects across North America, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements. This role serves as the primary point of coordination between customers, engineering, supply chain, commercial, manufacturing, and operations teams to successfully execute equipment maintenance, upgrades, rebuilds, inspections, and aftermarket service projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Execution
  • Lead the full project lifecycle from project handover through closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and execution plans.
  • Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer expectations.
  • Coordinate project resources and align internal stakeholders to meet project objectives.
  • Manage project scope changes, claims, and variations while maintaining contractual compliance.
  • Conduct regular project reviews and provide status updates to management and customers.

Customer & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary customer interface throughout project execution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with mining customers across North America.
  • Facilitate project meetings, progress reviews, and issue-resolution discussions.
  • Manage customer expectations and ensure effective communication regarding project milestones and deliverables.

Financial Management
  • Develop and track project budgets, forecasts, and cost performance metrics.
  • Monitor project profitability and identify opportunities to improve financial results.
  • Support invoicing milestones, revenue recognition, and cash collection activities.
  • Analyze project variances and implement mitigation plans as needed.

Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, logistics, manufacturing, operations, and commercial teams.
  • Coordinate material availability and project execution activities to ensure schedule adherence.
  • Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and project records are maintained.
  • Support sales and commercial teams during project planning, proposal development, and customer discussions.

Risk, Quality & Safety
  • Identify and mitigate project risks proactively.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Promote adherence to all applicable health, safety, environmental, and corporate compliance requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lessons-learned reviews throughout the project lifecycle.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mining Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Additional project management certifications are considered an asset.

Experience
  • 5+ years of project management experience in mining, heavy industry, industrial equipment, manufacturing, aftermarket services, or similar industrial environments.
  • Experience managing maintenance, rebuild, inspection, overhaul, retrofit, or aftermarket service projects.
  • Proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations and time zones.
  • Experience working with customers in the United States, Canada, and/or Mexico is highly preferred.

Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, Power BI, and ERP systems (Oracle and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred).
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Familiarity with mining equipment, mineral processing systems, or industrial service operations is highly desirable.
