Essential Responsibilities
As a Manager of Corporate Strategy, you will work with the CarMax leadership to help shape the company's strategy within our Product and Operational departments. You will ensure success in those departments by:
  • Identifying opportunities across the organization by periodically leading sessions to identify potential new initiatives for development, and developing and maintaining a roadmap of new initiatives and tests for development that roll up to our long-range Strategic Plan
  • Supporting the development of solutions in partnership with our functional experts in each area
  • Defining the test plan to understand interdependencies between tests, the sequencing of testing, and identifying key performance metrics
  • Conducting test analysis to understand performance and identifying opportunities to further enhance the initiative
  • Determining when ready for market expansion
  • Maintaining a communication strategy to inform all executives on results from strategic initiatives as well as overall business performance

  • Ability to convert high-level business objectives into concrete action plans and analytical tasks
  • Ability to assimilate numerous qualitative and quantitative inputs in the face of ambiguity and drill down to a good decision

  • Ability to develop and execute a plan with high degree of independence
  • Ability to deliver great results while simultaneously managing several projects
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively, and manage your time to meet goals/objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and influence across all levels of the organization Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner through verbal and written methods
  • Demonstrated success in analytical decision making
  • Ability to apply business and technical knowledge to solve key business problems

Requirements:
  • Completion of a four-year undergraduate degree in a business or quantitative discipline with an excellent academic record; Graduate degree a plus but not required
  • Four or more years of experience in an analytical role
  • Experience with strategy formulation, articulation, and implementation
  • Experience with advanced analytics and modeling preferred
  • Computer skills: Excel, PowerPoint; SQL experience preferred

Work Location and Arrangement: This role will be based out of the CarMax Midtown Office (Richmond, VA) and associates will work onsite 4 days per week.
Work Authorization: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Sponsorship will not be considered for this specific role
