Job description

ABOUT SLATE

At Slate, weโ€™re building safe, reliable vehicles that people can afford, personalize and loveโ€”and doing it here in the USA as part of our commitment to reindustrialization. The spirit of DIY and customization runs throughout every element of a Slate, because people should have control over how their trucks look, feel, and represent them.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a hardworking and experienced Strategy Associate to join our dynamic team. As a Strategy Associate you will play a role in crafting our company's strategic direction and informing key decisions. You will demonstrate your analytical skills to provide insights and contribute to our vision. The role involves proactive data analysis, report preparation and presentation to senior leadership, and participation in strategic projects. From highly defined projects, to open ended, ambiguous ones, this role requires problem solving skills that can accommodate either scenario.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO
  • Proactively collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to generate insights that help Slate make informed strategic decisions across Sales, Customer Experience, and Commercial Operations
  • Lead and collaborate on strategic initiatives from inception through implementation, focused on go-to-market strategy, sales program development, customer engagement optimization, sales operations improvements, and commercial performance across both consumer and fleet channels
  • Evaluate and optimize sales programs, processes, and customer journey touchpoints to improve conversion, efficiency, and overall customer experience from reservation through delivery and ownership
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Sales Operations, Customer Experience, Fleet, Financial Services, Accessories, and Executive Leadership to ensure alignment and execution of key commercial priorities
  • Develop clear written and verbal presentations for senior leadership on topics critical to Slateโ€™s sales strategy, go-to-market execution, and growth plans
  • Support market diligence, strategic planning, and board-level materials related to commercial performance, customer demand, and future business opportunities
  • Deliver ad hoc analyses, reporting, and business insights with the ability to operate effectively under rapid turnaround timelines
  • Support Sales business operations through milestone reporting, scorecard tracking, KPI ownership, and project management across strategic initiatives
  • Work closely with an experienced team lead and former consultant on strategic planning, execution, and continuous improvement across the commercial organization
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in engineering, business, math, economics, or another analytical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in management consulting, strategy, business operations, or similar experience applying analytical reasoning to solve complex business questions.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, or R is a plus.
  • Experience with basic project management tools and methodologies.
  • Proficient in creating data visualizations, dashboards, and reports using Tableau or similar BI solutions is preferred.
  • Proficient, and responsible in AI support tool use.
  • Familiarity and / or strong enthusiasm with the electric vehicle industry and sustainable transportation trends is a plus.
  • A persevering mindset and strong โ€œone companyโ€ teammate.
  • Thrive in an ambiguous, entrepreneurial environment, and adept at working from a clean sheet without legacy constraints or pre-defined process.
  • An ability to lead fast-paced projects from inception to deployment, providing structure and achievement monitoring for all stakeholders (who are likely to be from different cultures and in different time zones).
WHY JOIN TEAM SLATE?
  • Safety First
  • Delight Customers
  • One Team
  • Relentless Improvement
  • Fast, Frugal, and Scrappy
  • Respectful Collaboration
  • Positive Legacy

WE WANT TO WORK WITH PEOPLE THAT REFLECT THE COMMUNITIES IN WHICH WE OPERATE.

About Us

At Slate, weโ€™ve got one job: building a vehicle youโ€™ll fall in love with, right here in the USA. We believe that car buyersโ€”not car companiesโ€”should call the shots. We like looking at a road, not a screen. We donโ€™t like paying for stuff we donโ€™t need.We like picking out the stuff we do need. We think dings are badges, not blemishes. But we know not everyone likes what we like. So, we built you a Slate: you make it yours.
