Job Overview for Storekeeper
The Lee Group is looking for a Storekeeper to work with one of our valued clients in Chesapeake, VA. In this role, you will help ensure the Maintenance & Operations team has the materials, parts, tools, and equipment needed to keep essential systems in good repair.
The Storekeeper will receive and issue inventory, maintain accurate stock and purchasing records, coordinate replacement and special-order items, and keep the inventory storage area organized and clean. This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with inventory and materials in a hands-on environment.
Job Responsibilities of Storekeeper
Verify the quantity and quality of inventory received against invoices, report discrepancies, unpack and store items, and enter inventory into the database.
Initiate requisitions and purchase orders for replacement of standard stock items according to established procedures and follow up on outstanding orders.
Assemble, record, package, and deliver stock items to user departments.
Issue stock, tools, and other materials to individuals as needed.
Collect used parts and equipment and document information needed to support replacement or repair.
Take orders for special items that are not normally carried in stock.
Drive a truck to pick up parts and equipment from suppliers, return parts for credit, match parts, and pick up office supplies as needed.
Restock shelves and routinely clean and organize the inventory storage area.
Record work orders, including the date and time, so supervisors can order inventory needed for specific jobs.
Maintain inventory and material receipt records in the appropriate databases and ledgers.
Oversee employee uniforms.
Complete special projects, including building crates for shipping parts or equipment to vendors, building shelves, preparing sandbags, and moving supplies.
Maintain clerical records and prepare routine reports.
Assist with periodic and special inventory counts and prepare periodic stock inventory lists.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
