Job Description

Under supervision of a Unit Supervisor or Manager, serves as Storekeeper during operational periods and performs custodial duties during periods of non-operation; manages storeroom in receiving, storing, and distribution of food items, supplies, chemicals and equipment. Receives, weighs, counts, unpacks and stores food supplies; issues food and requisitioned supplies; organizes and cleans storeroom and refrigerators; removes trash.May be exposed to low temperatures while working cold storage items as well as high temperatures; will be exposed to variations in weather and may handle hazardous chemicals.

Minimum Education Required

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and to read and write simple sentences plus: 1 course in record keeping (or 1mo. exp.); 1 course in inventory control (or 1 mo. exp.); or equivalent.

Qualifications

Required: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, read and write simple sentences and communicate effectively; 1course in record keeping or 1 month experience; 1 course in inventory control or 1 month experience or similar experience; ability to lift up to 100 lbs.; ability to operate a pallet jack.; successful completion of a background check.

Desired: High School Diploma; knowledge of inventory control practices and food safety practices; knowledge of HAACP principles.

Critical to the Residential Experience, Dining Services administers the student meal plan to approximately 15,000 residential students on the Columbus, Manseld, Marion, Newark and Wooster campuses.

The hiring range for this position is $16.70 - $20.88. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the selected candidate's qualifications.
