Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Receive, properly date and rotate, and store products in designated storage areas according to FIFO practices.
  • Deliver products to retail department according to a delivery schedule or by requisitions.
  • Decant products following FIFO practices and handle food according to HACCP/food safety Guidelines.
  • Break down cardboard and follow the recycling process.
  • Keep work area/department clean and organized and perform other tasks assigned as needed.

JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent performance, attendance, and safety record
  • Must have good organizational skills and adaptable to frequent changes
  • Must be able to use fingers & hands to handle equipment
  • Must be able to date product and verify information
  • Must be able to work in extreme hot or cold environment
  • Must be able to work around moving equipment and wet floors
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and push up to 100 lbs (on rolling stock)
  • Must be able to walk/stoop/bend/stand for 8 to 10 hours per shift
  • Must be able to use electrical and manual pallet jack
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Must be flexible to work weekends and holidays. Days off subject to change due to shift bidding
  • Previous forklift and electric pallet jack experience preferred
