Cheeca Lodge & Spa, a premier luxury resort in the Florida Keys, is seeking a Stewarding Supervisor to lead our stewarding team. This hourly, hands-on leadership role ensures the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and efficiency in kitchen operations. The Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the stewarding team, ensuring all duties are completed correctly, enforcing cleanliness and safety standards, and actively working alongside the team to maintain a pristine and well-functioning kitchen.
Availability Required: Mornings, Evenings, Weekends, Holidays
Key Responsibilities:
The Steward Supervisor is responsible for supporting the daily operation of the stewarding team and ensuring all kitchen, dishwashing, storage, and back-of-house areas are clean, organized, safe, and properly maintained.
Responsibilities include:
  • Supervise, train, and support stewarding team members.
  • Assign daily tasks and ensure work is completed properly and on time.
  • Conduct walkthroughs of kitchen, dishwashing, trash, storage, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met.
  • Assist with daily stewarding duties, including dishwashing, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, organizing, and deep cleaning projects.
  • Ensure proper use and care of dishwashing equipment, kitchen tools, cleaning supplies, and chemicals.
  • Support culinary, restaurant, and banquet teams by ensuring clean dishware, silverware, glassware, and kitchen equipment are available.
  • Monitor team performance and report concerns, safety hazards, supply needs, or equipment issues to management.
  • Enforce resort standards for cleanliness, safety, sanitation, grooming, hygiene, and uniforms.
  • Ensure all work areas are properly stocked, organized, cleaned, and sanitized at the end of each shift.

Qualifications
  • Previous stewarding experience required.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation, safety standards, and HACCP procedures preferred.
  • Ability to train, guide, and hold team members accountable in a positive and professional manner.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • English communication skills required; bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a fast-paced environment.
