Nestled on the shores of Lady Bird Lake, in the heart of downtown Austin is Hyatt Regency Austin - where caring for people to be their best is our purpose and the foundation of all that we do! We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and service-driven Full-Time Stewarding Supervisor to join our Culinary and Stewarding Leadership Team.
The Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the Stewarding Department while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, organization, and operational efficiency throughout all Food & Beverage areas. This position plays a key role in leading the Stewarding Team and works closely with Banquet Stewards, Culinary Leadership, and Food & Beverage Management to ensure restaurants, banquet events, and back-of-house operations are properly supported and executed according to Hyatt standards. The ideal candidate leads by example, promotes teamwork, develops employees, and demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with hotel leadership, colleagues, and other departments while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
Essential Responsibilities
โ€ข Supervise the daily activities of the Stewarding Team and Banquet Stewards.
โ€ข Coordinate daily operations with Culinary, Banquets, and Food & Beverage departments.
โ€ข Ensure all china, glassware, silverware, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment are cleaned, sanitized, organized, and available for service.
โ€ข Support banquet operations by ensuring all banquet equipment is properly set, delivered, collected, and stored according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and operational timelines.
โ€ข Maintain Hyatt sanitation, safety, and food handling standards while ensuring compliance with Health Department regulations.
โ€ข Conduct daily inspections of kitchens, stewarding areas, storage rooms, and dishwashing operations.
โ€ข Assist with training, coaching, scheduling and performance development of Stewarding colleagues.
โ€ข Monitor stewarding inventories, chemicals, and equipment, reporting maintenance or supply needs when necessary.
โ€ข Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
โ€ข Perform other duties as assigned by Stewarding Management.
