A little about the position:

Job Summary

The Shipping supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our shipping / receiving operations, including scheduling, coordinating, and tracking shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery to our customers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and experience supervising a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

 

Some of What You Will Do:

  • Manage the shipping process in all modes of transport from start to finish, including scheduling, coordinating, and tracking shipments
  • Ensure that all shipments are delivered on time and within budget
  • Experience creating & managing Bill’s of Lading
  • Manage a team of shipping clerks and forklift operators, including training, scheduling, and monitoring performance
  • Assist in developing and implement shipping policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards
  • Work closely with other departments, including production, sales, and customer service, to ensure that customer needs are met
  • Continuously analyse and optimize the shipping process to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Maintain accurate records of all shipments and communicate status updates to customers and other stakeholders
  • Resolve any issues or problems that may arise during the shipping process
  • Inventory management including overseeing cycle counts, discrepancy corrections and yearend physical inventory.

What You Bring to the Table: (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or associates degree and min of 3 years of experience in shipping and logistics, with a proven track record of success
  • Ability to manage and motivate a SRW team in a fast-paced environment
  • Data entry skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and will need to learn our ERP/CRM software.
  • Familiarity with domestic and international shipping regulations and compliance requirements including the shipping of hazardous goods and Lithium batteries
  • Proficiency in using shipping software and systems
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Small parcel shipping knowledge
  • Ability to work overtime when required
