Job description

Independence Corrugated, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners and corrugated manufacturing industry leader, is currently seeking a Shipping Supervisor at our state-of-the-art facility in Oak Creek, WI. As the Shipping Supervisor, you will be responsible for the shipment of product to all customers. They are responsible for the accuracy of shipments and meeting all documented service requirements. This person plans, orders and directs all activities within the Shipping Department.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
  • Employee relations (coach and counsel with employees on a regular basis).
  • Maintain work schedules when it comes to vacation and overtime.
  • Train current and new employees.
  • Work hand in hand with the accounting department when it comes to billing.
  • Coordinate and communicate outbound shipments with carriers.
  • Work with customer service/scheduling department on orders, as well as deliveries.
  • Provide paperwork to all drivers.
  • Negotiate rates with trucking companies.
  • Put the schedule out to forklift drivers to match the production schedule.
  • Ship parts for other departments, LTL.
  • Interview and hire new staff.
  • Additional duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • 1-5+ years manufacturing leadership experience

PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma.
  • 1-5+ years in management.
  • 1-3+ years in shipping.

REQUIRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.):
  • English Proficient.
  • Basic computer and office software.
  • Excel knowledge.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Excellent time management skills and well-organized.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be able to walk around the floor and lift 30+ lbs. Must have a flexible schedule and be able to cover other shifts when needed.
