Description

Job Summary: To direct and supervise plant operations to achieve customer satisfaction, productivity, schedule adherence and financial goals. Responsible for safety, quality, production and all other production-related activities.  This is a 2nd shift position.


Essential Functions:


Safety

Ensure all company safety guidelines/protocols are followed correctly as it relates to work and machine safety, housekeeping, machine maintenance, etc.


Quality

Ensure all company quality guidelines/protocols are followed correctly as it relates to production.


Production

Oversee all aspects of plant operation for production, maintenance, quality, and shipping and receiving.

Coordinate plant activities through the Production Superintendent to ensure manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Establish and monitor plant performance for production standards.

Assists with maintaining proper inventory accuracy.

Ensure production paperwork is completed correctly and turned in at the end of the shift.

Ensure materials are staged for the next shift.


Supervisory

Supervises all plant personnel.

Provides leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.

Works directly with the Production Superintendent regarding all employee issues, including temporary employees.

Assists the Production Superintendent with the hiring of plant personnel through interviews.

Responsible for administrative activities (timecard approval etc.)

Coordinate shift change communication with other employees and staff.

Requirements

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skill Required 

Experience in a production or distribution environment. 

Experience in machine maintenance and troubleshooting 

Experience supervising, coaching, and developing staff. 

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 

Works well with management, peers, and employees.

Five to seven years previous supervisory experience required.

Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
