Job description

Job Title: Field Laboratory Representative
Location: Rochester, MN 
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday & Friday 7am-11pm (12 hours per week)
Overview

Join a dynamic healthcare team as a Field Laboratory Representative, where you'll play a vital role in specimen collection and laboratory testing support. This position offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work in a clinical setting dedicated to patient care. Responsibilities

Facilitate the collection, processing, and shipping of urine specimens

Collect urine specimens from patients, including observed and supervised collections

Verify patient identity according to departmental policies before specimen collection

Properly label and document specimens, ensuring accurate record-keeping and preparation for shipment

Provide excellent customer service and demonstrate compassion when interacting with patients, physicians, and clinic staff

Communicate effectively with a diverse patient population and react appropriately to various scenarios

Adhere to Universal Precautions, OSHA standards, and HIPAA guidelines when handling specimens

Report low volume shifts, issues, or deviations from established procedures to supervisors

Maintain a neat, clean, and organized patient and work area

Manage order processing and office supplies as needed

Required Skills

Proven track record of providing excellent customer service

Reliable with a strong work ethic

Strong computer skills, including working in multiple programs and managing emails and reports

Fast and accurate data entry abilities

Clear, concise communication skills with credibility and confidence

Additional Skills & Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs

Physical ability to perform activities such as walking, sitting, bending, lifting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and squatting

Availability to work scheduled hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 7:00 am to 11:00 am

Prior experience in specimen collection or clinical laboratory settings is preferred

High school diploma or equivalent required
