Job description

Vistra is seeking a Senior Technical Editor to oversees the entire editorial process for high-stakes technical documentation, ensuring stylistic consistency across large-scale programs and mentoring junior staff. This is an onsite position in either McLean, VA, or Washington, DC. Key responsibilities include: * Transform raw data and engineering jargon into authoritative documents that meet stringent agency requirements
* Provide substantive editing, verification of technical accuracy, and ensure compliance with agency style guides
* Check references, facts, and ensure copyright compliance of written work products
* Ensure that staff are updating the submission and project tracking system to enable customers visibility into the status of their projects
* Provide final editing for presentations, video and online tour scripts, social media posts, and other communications collateral Requirements * Masterโ€™s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related technical degree
* 10+ years of relevant professional experience, including supervision and project management experience with multidisciplinary teams * Experience managing the full lifecycle of marketing and communications documents, from outline to final publication to include web and social media * Expert-level command of the GPO Style Manual and Chicago Manual of Style and an eye for detail in ensuring quality control
* Transportation experience, especially in highway and surface transportation, is preferred.
* Public Trust is required; Security Clearance is preferred.
