TECHNICAL EDITOR PRINCIPAL
Oversee complex programs that drive impactful mission outcomes for our customers as a Technical Editor Principal . Here, you'll see the bigger picture on mission initiatives and where your program management career can go at GDIT.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Technical Editor the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of Technology Shared Services. You will play a crucial role in creating, maintaining, and governing program documentation across Agile, technical, and compliance domains. Working closely with architects, developers, product managers, and federal stakeholders, this role ensures that all documentation-including design artifacts, user guides, and compliance deliverables-is clear, accurate, and compliant with federal standards. The Technical Writer plays a key role in supporting DevSecOps, Agile delivery, and modernization transparency for applications built as part of this initiative.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your program management expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Technical Editor Principal must have:
Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in English, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or equivalent
Experience: 8+ years of related experience working in an Agile Scrum environment writing technical documentation for the software product, application, and product releases.

Technical skills: Proven experience producing documentation for Agile, cloud, or DevSecOps-based projects; Strong understanding of technical concepts in software development, system architecture, APIs, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred); Experience managing compliance documentation for FedRAMP, NIST, or FISMA-controlled environments; Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills, with attention to accuracy, clarity, and style; Proficiency with document management systems (SharePoint, Confluence, Git, or equivalent); Familiarity with Markdown, HTML, or XML for publishing technical documentation; Experience creating content accessible to all audiences (Section 508 and WCAG compliance).
Security clearance level: Public Trust

The likely salary range for this position is $102,000 - $138,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
