The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000. Bethel, the regional hub and location of the only hospital in the region, has a population of nearly 7,000. Position Summary: The Service Desk Technician's role is to ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks. This includes triaging incoming phone calls, prioritizing, documenting, and resolving or escalating end user help requests on all corporate hardware and software. The Service Desk Technician will maintain and log all support calls to the support center database application for call tracking and SLA requirements. The Service Desk Technician will serve as operator in lieu of.
Position Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year experience in general desktop experience with hardware and business applications such as word processing, databases, spreadsheets and operating systems preferred.
  • Valid drivers license or equivalent. An A+ certification is preferred.
  • Personal computer, personal cell phone, personal high-speed internet.
  • A basic understanding of computer technology and terms such as operating systems, hardware, office automation applications, peripheral installations (printers, scanners, monitors, etc.).
  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
  • This job has no on call responsibilities.
