Standard Electric Supply Co. is a family-owned company that is celebrating 106 years of service. We are a wholesale distributor of electrical and automation supplies. We have 16 locations across Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana. About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Customer Service Representative to join our team in either Champaign, IL or Indianapolis, IN. The Customer Service Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction by providing friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt sales and service support for internal and external customers. The Customer Service representative will serve as the primary point of contact for customers while proactively monitoring customer orders and expediting orders when necessary. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain effective communication while following all defined procedures and work instructions to properly process customers' quotes and orders.

The pay range for this position is $50,000 to $55,000 annually. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors including but not limited to, the individuals qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as physical work location within the state. This position is posted in multiple locations to reflect our flexibility with where the successful candidate may be based. Candidates may work out of our Champaign, IL or Indianapolis, IN location.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of customer service experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3-4 years of experience in inside sales.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, providing timely and professional support.
  • Process and manage customer orders, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery.
  • Monitor open orders, expedite shipments, and proactively resolve issues or delays.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing, Operations, Warehouse, and Suppliers to meet customer needs.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and utilize ERP systems, Excel, and reporting tools.
  • Manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Support customers by developing a strong understanding of company products, services, and industry applications.
