As an Operation Associate you will:

  • General Operations
    • Serve as one of primary contact for all of the school's constituents in person, over the phone, and via email.
    • Answer and direct phone calls courteously.
    • Welcome visitors in a warm and friendly manner, and answer questions visitors may have.
    • Maintain the reception area and all common areas in a clean and tidy manner
    • Keep detailed and accurate records of visitor requests throughout the day.
    • Serve as a liaison for staff and students regarding site operations, community relations, experience, and culture.
    • Serve as the initial point of contact for school stakeholders and constituents, and manage phone and mailing systems, including incoming and outgoing routine communications to stakeholders.
    • Support the Office Manager in ensuring school health and safety protocols are implemented to fidelity.
    • Conduct weekly classroom audits
    • Ensure staff have materials/supplies they ask for or need
    • Help resolve any staff issues related to the building/classroom
    • Troubleshoot minor technical issues such as the copy machines and security cameras
    • Support LAB's school meal programs.
    • Support the work of our Family and Community Partnership team by attending family nights, report card nights and occasional work events outside of normally scheduled work hours.

    Data Systems
    • Manage school-wide daily attendance and behavior tracking systems; support the collection and maintenance of student records to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
    • Manage and track absences, early dismissals, and tardy students monthly to identify trends.
    • Send daily attendance reports
    • Act as a lead operations associate in state testing preparation

    Student Services
    • Support the distribution and inventory management of school uniforms
    • Support the distribution of Metrocards to students during the academic year
    • Support the management of the start of the year Welcome Back packets, folders, bags, and other services for new and returning students
    • Support with procedures and assist with the arrival and dismissal of students
    • Assist with the collection of immunization records
    • Aid and Assist during Parent Teacher Conferences and report card distribution

    Student Experience
    • Support student-facing culture opportunities such as honor roll, perfect attendance, and other recognition opportunities related to school operations.
    • Support logistics and communications for special events, school activities, meetings, and local field trips.

    Student Enrollment
    • Support student recruitment by prepping for open houses and other recruitment events.
    • Support the enrollment team by following up with families, checking documents as needed
    • Support the enrollment team during the months of March, April, and May with lottery preparations, new parent calls, and event support.
    • Support and conduct campus tours

    Miscellaneous
    • Collaborate with department subjects and department teams to support any operational projects.
    • Support where needed to ensure optimal success in the building
    • Support the onboarding process by ensuring that all staff/scholars have their ID keys and other start-of-the-year items
    • Assist with campus upkeep and beautification initiatives.
    • This job occasionally requires the ability to lift up to 30-50 pounds.
    • Perform other duties as assigned**

ABOUT THE DESIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING & MINDSET:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One year minimum of working experience in a diverse and urban school area preferred
  • Well-versed in Excel, Word, and Slides (MS Suite)
  • Commitment to LAB's mission and academic objectives: that all students, regardless of background and incoming ability, can achieve at high levels

COMPENSATION


Salary range: $50,000-$60,000, commensurate with experience and education.
