The Position:

Under the direction of the Logistics Manager and Area Management team, the Construction Scheduler will be responsible for producing, managing and communicating daily construction schedules to ensure projects run efficiently. Along with the daily schedule they will coordinate equipment, plants, and third-party trucking in the best interest of Walbec.

  • Generating a daily schedule forCrews in southern Wisconsin including labor, materials, and equipment as dictated by superintendents.

  • Work with Payne and Dolan transportation to assist in scheduling and ensure the most efficient transport of floating equipment, graders, loaders, rollers, and other heavy equipment moves.

  • Create a rolling two-week schedule (updated as changes occur) and create an electronic posting of the updated schedule accessible daily

  • Assist in keeping the master schedule up to date including ling range schedule.

  • Work directly with the local project management staff and superintendents to collect project data to ensure an efficient and cost-effective schedule

  • Assist in scheduling, monitoring, and tracking Walbec floating equipment pool. Coordinate use and long-range needs with Payne and Dolan superintendents

  • Maintain open lines of communication with Payne and Dolan field/aggregate supervisors, technical services, area managers and project managers to ensure customer satisfaction regarding crew availability and scheduling efficiency

  • Work with Superintendents and Managers in bi-weekly scheduling meetings.

  • Create an open working relationship, assist and be a resource to all project managers and superintendents to ensure that all their projects can be completed in a timely & efficient manner.

  • Coordinate with the scheduling manager(s) from other Walbec business units for most efficient use of crews and equipment

  • Coordinate traffic control needs, including but not limited to equipment, location, duration and pick up, to assist in efficient planning and scheduling

  • Monitor crew personnel hours of service as requested by Area Management

  • Other related duties as required

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma

  • Ability to multi-task required

  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Products

  • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record

  • Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with a variety of team members, leadership, and external partners

  • Work effectively as part of a team, stay professional under pressure, and consistently act with integrity

Preferred:

  • Road construction experience

  • Bachelors, associates, trade school or equivalent technical training

  • Ability to troubleshoot issues, adjust to changing conditions, improve processes, and stay highly organized and detailed focused.

  • Experience scheduling or participating in a logistics environment, preferably in a construction related setting
