Job description

THK Manufacturing of America is looking for a Scheduling Specialist to help drive the daily flow of materials and production across our manufacturing operations. This position works closely with Production and Warehouse teams to determine what needs to run, when materials need to be released, and which orders take priority. The Production Specialist creates and maintains schedules for production areas while helping ensure materials are available when production needs them.
This is a great opportunity for someone who understands manufacturing, enjoys solving problems, and can quickly adjust priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
Hours 6am-2pm
Key Responsibilities
  • Production Scheduling amp; Prioritization: Create and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, material availability, capacity, and operational priorities.
  • Material Release Planning: Coordinate the timely release of materials throughout the plant to keep production moving and prevent unnecessary downtime.
  • Production Flow: Monitor material movement through each process, identify potential delays, and adjust priorities to support production targets.
  • Kanban amp; Inventory Management: Monitor Kanban levels, material racks, and shop-floor inventory. Trigger Material Orders (MOs) through the ERP system to maintain appropriate material levels.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with Production Supervisors, Warehouse, and other departments to communicate daily priorities, material needs, changeovers, and potential constraints.
  • Material Order Management: Create and maintain GY orders, monitor due dates, and ensure appropriate Kanban quantities are maintained.
  • Problem Solving: Anticipate material or scheduling issues and take action before they impact production.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, production scheduling, production control, material planning, or industrial logistics preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production flow.
  • Ability to read production schedules, determine priorities, and quickly adjust plans as conditions change.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work across multiple departments.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Kanban, Just-in-Time, 5S, and continuous improvement is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and maintain a strong sense of urgency.
  • Comfortable spending time on the production floor to understand material flow, inventory levels, and operational needs.
