Job Title: Development Manager

Location: Allen, TX

Purpose and Objective: 

Concur Technologies, Inc. seeks a Development Manager at our Allen, TX location to set up and constantly improve a high performing engineering organization with best-in class engineering processes.

 

Expectations and Tasks:

Responsible for supporting the success of direct reports, and the success of all employees within the larger team, by helping to identify development opportunities and supporting team members to achieve their goals. Act as coach and mentor to help with personal development. Conduct deliverable reviews, providing performance feedback while establishing a safe space for developers to effectively learn and grow. Accountable for technical realization of the requirements within the capacity of the engineering team. Contribute to change management and drive engineering excellence and continuous improvement within the engineering team. Clarify implementation approach and plan execution with the engineering team. Connect product vision, goals, and user requirements to organizational goals and help team members with translation into relatable individual and team goals. Partner with Product Management and User Experience to translate the overall outcome-based roadmap and vision into a product backlog and prioritization in a manner clearly understandable to the development team. Perform hands-on technical tasks and responsibilities in addition to team management, coaching, and development. Ensure product requirements, as well as non-functional requirements are built, tested, and maintained. Collaborate with Product Management on prioritization of the backlog. Own the technology decisions and resource investments (framework/architecture/tooling). Ensure compliance of software development processes with relevant standards, regulations, and legal requirements. Manage 3rd party contractors and suppliers. Drive attainment of product and service quality service-level agreements (SLAs). Define and align non-functional backlog items with Product Management. Identify and address potential delivery risks that may impact the success of the product. Ensure supportability of the product. Ensure service quality is continuously driven via root cause analysis and preventive actions. Drive adherence to support metrics and ensure 24/7 support.

 

Education and Occupational Experience:

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a related field of study and seven (7) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:

Experience must include five (5) years involving each of the following:

  • Software architecture and implementation;
  • Managing Customer incidents, escalations, and conflicts;
  • AWS Cloud Native Technologies Applications;
  • Agile Practices;
  • Java, Kotlin, or Go programming language;
  • Automation and Performance testing applications and services;
  • Production support of mission critical applications; and
  • Architecture Modeling, Documentation, and Pattern Applications.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $209,394 - $272,486. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP's commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $209,394 - $332,300. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
