Talent Acquisition Specialist (1099 Contractor)

Locations: Florida, New York, Pennsylvania
Schedule: Project-Based / Flexible
Work Setting: Fully Remote – Independent Contractor sets their own hours and work schedule

Contract Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Contract Duration: Flexible, project-based engagement estimated at 3 months with potential for extension based on mutual agreement and business needs.
Compensation: $35 - $50/hour (Paid as an independent contractor via invoice)

Job Summary

MedElite is seeking an experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist as an independent 1099 contractor to provide full-cycle recruiting support for healthcare positions on a project basis. The contractor will leverage their expertise to deliver qualified candidates while maintaining full autonomy over their methods and schedule.

The ideal candidate has prior healthcare recruitment experience, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can effectively manage multiple requisitions while delivering an exceptional candidate experience.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver full-cycle recruitment support for clinical and corporate roles across assigned markets, including sourcing, screening, and coordinating interviews.
  • Provide a consistent flow of qualified candidates for open requisitions while managing multiple priorities.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers as needed to understand position requirements and priorities.
  • Utilize personal expertise and preferred sourcing tools (including LinkedIn, Indeed, job boards, and any provided ATS access) to identify top talent.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records and communications as mutually agreed.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for hard-to-fill healthcare positions (Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Physicians, etc.).
  • Deliver recruitment services as an independent professional, exercising discretion over daily activities and approach.
Requirements
  • Healthcare recruitment experience is required
  • 1–3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably within healthcare staffing or healthcare organizations
  • Experience recruiting for clinical positions such as Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Physicians, Nurses, Medical Assistants, or related healthcare roles strongly preferred
  • Strong sourcing and candidate engagement experience
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with a high sense of urgency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems and recruiting platforms
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities
  • Must be able to operate successfully as an independent contractor with minimal supervision, managing own time, tools, and business operations.

  • 3-month initial engagement with option for extension or conversion to permanent employment based on performance and mutual agreement.
  • Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, equipment, and business expenses
