Summary:

Highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Engineer with a background in Mechanical Engineering to lead and support customer-specific applications and solutions in our “Pack Space Excellence Department”. This role involves translating customer needs into tailored technical solutions, coordinating cross-functional efforts, and ensuring successful deployment and integration of Ranpak systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for customers during the sales and implementation process.
    • Understand customer needs and translate them into effective packaging solutions in close collaboration with the Sales Manager.
    • Support the sales team with technical insights during customer meetings, trainings, and trade shows.
    • Prepare and present solution proposals, including layouts, cost estimates, and ROI calculations
    • Lead customer application projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and budget.
  • PSE Project Management and Innovation
    • Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to define application scope and deliverables.
    • Fuel PSE with new innovative concept ideas to drive customer value and differentiation from customers, including digital/date products.
    • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to align on application requirements and timelines.
    • Lead cross-functional teams in the development and deployment of customized solutions.
    • Support post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions.
    • Provide input on product improvements and new product introductions (NPIs) based on customer feedback and market trends.
    • Identify opportunities for application optimization and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., CE, UL_CA) and customer-specific requirements.
  • Drive and own key Sales Performance Metrics:
  • Sales Conversion Rate – Track the percentage of proposals that convert into closed deals.
  • Revenue Growth – Monitor revenue generated from new and existing customers.
  • Sales Cycle Length – Analyze the average time from initial contact to deal closure.
  • Pipeline Value – Maintain and grow a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Customer Satisfaction (NPS or CSAT) – Gather feedback to ensure high service quality.
  • Technical Win Rate – Evaluate success in winning technical validations or trials.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations and dashboards to communicate application status and key sales performance metrics
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a sales background
  • 5+ years of experience in application engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial automation setting
  • Strong customer orientation and ability to translate needs into technical solutions
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • ERP knowledge (preferably SAP)
  • Strong understanding of logistic systems, automation technology, and integration processes
