Job description

Sales Engineer

The Sales Engineer will support the company's strategic growth by identifying and developing new opportunities in both existing and potential markets. This role requires a technical sales approach, with experience in tight-tolerance applications and close collaboration with engineering and product development teams. Salary Range: $71,985-$107,977 + annual bonus

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue business opportunities in markets related to tight-tolerance automotive/vehicle powertrain components.
  • Identify opportunities in new areas and markets outside the automotive industry.
  • Support sales initiatives related to stamping, flow-forming, and metal spinning technologies.
  • Collaborate with internal Engineering and Product Development teams to align customer needs with technical solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective clients.
  • Provide technical expertise and product insights to support the sales process.
  • Analyze market data and trends to inform strategy and identify growth opportunities.
  • Support quoting, proposals, and presentations to customers as required.
  • Be familiar with customer specific portals for Quoting and Account Management purposes.
  • Technical understanding of tight-tolerance metal forming processes
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally between sales and engineering
  • Strategic thinker with problem-solving skills

  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Work with and support Independent Sales Representatives on accounts assigned by the Director of Sales and Marketing for new sales growth opportunities.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education and experience required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical sales or related engineering fields
  • Background in automotive or vehicle powertrain systems
  • Familiarity with stamping, flow-forming, and spinning manufacturing methods
