Position Summary

  • Apply experience and expertise of regulations & policies to review and apply compliance by design of (a) formulas, ingredients and any relevant processing procedures, (b) all required and optional label information, including claims, and (c) sensitive communications such as advertising, promotional materials, websites, etc.
  • Prepare scientific and regulatory dossiers and registrations required by regulation or Nestle policy for novel ingredients, formulas and/or labels.
  • Lead the regulatory aspects of the Innovation and Renovation process from concept to product launch devising compliance strategies for novel ingredients or new technologies.
  • Maintain existing Nestle systems, policies and tools, as well as recommend opportunities to enhance and improve processes.
  • Act as mentor and/or coach to Associate Specialists and Specialists to develop fundamental knowledge of regulations and Nestle policies.
  • Contribute to committees and working groups of trade or scientific associations or other forums to expand Nestle USA representation and impact.
  • Communicate relevant regulatory trends such as nutrition, foods and food standards, and labeling as well as early warning of potential regulatory events and potential impact to the Nestle portfolio.
  • Prepare Nestle USA positions in collaboration with other functions through application of subject matter expertise and/or experience. Engage with authorities to present positions and discuss responses. 

Qualifications - Requirements & Minimum Education Level

Education:

  • Requires BS/BA, preferably in nutrition and/or food science. MS/MA preferred. 

Experience:

  • 5+ years' experience in the food industry, primarily in regulatory affairs, regulatory compliance, nutrition or product development. 

Skills:

  • Results-oriented teammate capable of working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Strong decision maker with strong organizational & analytical skills.
  • Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communications skills, along with strong influencing and negotiation skills, recognized expertise in functional areas with the ability to communicate regulatory and technical issues in lay terms.
  • Strong demonstration of interpersonal skills and ability to act in an appropriate role depending on the situation - facilitator, contributor, leader, executor, etc.

The approximate pay range for this position is $99,500- $130,000 base salary. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
