Job description

Job Title: Regulatory Specialist / Sr. Regulatory Specialist - Salty Snacks
Location: Hershey, PA
Type: Contract
Compensation: N/A
Contractor Work Model: Hybrid - onsite and remote
Hours: 40.0
Responsibilities
  • Support Regulatory Affairs activities for Salty Snacks brands, ensuring compliance with U.S. food regulations across the product lifecycle-from ideation through commercialization and post-launch
  • Partner cross-functionally with R&D, Marketing, Legal, Quality, Supply Chain to deliver compliant ingredients, formulas, labels, claims, and certifications for Salty products
  • Provide regulatory compliance support including ingredient, recipe, labeling, and claims reviews
  • Execute finished product labeling activities from creation through final packaging approval
  • Review and assess ingredients, additives, flavors, colors, allergens, and processing aids for U.S. regulatory compliance
  • Support claims substantiation (nutrition, organic, non-GMO, vegan, kosher, gluten free, whole grain as applicable)
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support innovation, renovation, and continuous improvement projects
  • Utilize internal systems (SAP-PLM/PDM, labeling and compliance tools, Webcenter/ESKO) to document regulatory decisions and approvals
  • Support responses to internal and external regulatory questions, including consumer and customer inquiries
  • Support label development, artwork reviews, and approvals
  • Review recipe submissions for regulatory compliance and claims substantiation
  • Participate in cross-functional project meetings for Salty innovation and renovations
  • Provide regulatory guidance to R&D, Marketing, and Commercial teams
  • Update regulatory systems and trackers (labels, certifications, compliance reviews)

Requirements
  • 2-5+ years Regulatory Affairs experience in food companies
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. food labeling and ingredient regulations
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Food Regulatory, Biology, Chemistry, or related field
  • Experience supporting cross-functional product development teams
  • Proficiency with PLM/PDM- SAP systems for ingredient, recipe, and label compliance
  • Experience with labeling and artwork systems (e.g., WebCenter or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and stakeholder communication
  • Experience with Salty Snacks or baked snack categories preferred
