Job description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced attorney specializing in federal employment law to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and a strong understanding of federal employment regulations and procedures. This is a fully remote position. The successful candidate's salary for this position is reasonably expected to be set within this range; however, actual compensation will depend on a variety of factors, including, without limitation, the candidate's qualifications and experience. The attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel, representation, and strategic guidance to clients in matters related to federal employment law. Knowledge of the EEOC and MSPB processes is important.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct legal research and analysis on federal employment laws, regulations, and precedents.
  2. Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on various federal employment issues, including but not limited to discrimination, harassment, wage and hour disputes, retaliation claims, and whistleblower protection.
  3. Draft and review legal documents, including complaints, briefs, motions, and settlement agreements.
  4. Represent clients in administrative proceedings, hearings, and negotiations with federal agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB), and Office of Special Counsel (OSC).
  5. Develop and implement legal strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients, including settlement negotiations and litigation when necessary.
  6. Stay current with changes in federal employment laws and regulations to provide up-to-date legal advice and counsel.
  7. Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals within the firm to ensure comprehensive and effective representation of clients.

Qualifications:

  1. Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  2. Admission to the bar in at least one state.
  3. Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing law dealing directly with clients.
  4. Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.
  6. Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  7. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
