Federal Telecommunications Engineer (RCDD)
Onsite- 5 days/week in Overland Park, KS / Denver, CO / Arlington, VA (specify worker location on submittal)
US Citizenship Required- Federal

The Opportunity

In this role, you will perform the following:
Lead communication designs and coordinate with other disciplines
Create conceptual and detailed systems designs, including producing design drawings, specifications and design analysis deliverables
Coordinate with a BIM/CAD team for drawing production
Perform quality control duties and independent technical reviews
Manage assigned budgets, scopes and schedules
Mentoring and providing guidance/instruction to less experienced staff members
Other potential duties:
May perform fieldwork and write assessment reports
May assist with creation of design guides and templates
May provide support to business development or pursuit activities
The Team

With the unique skill sets we have developed during the 100-plus years of service to our U.S. Government agencies client base, we are able to provide one-of-a-kind solutions to complex mission objectives that arise out of specific challenges faced by and unique to these agencies. Our primary areas of focus are: Architecture/Engineering (A/E) Services, Defense Program, Design/Build, Classified, and Environmental.
Preferred Qualifications
As part of this role, you will be assigned to projects supporting U.S. Government Agency/Department clients. Due to the nature of the work, candidate must be a U.S. Citizen. The following are preferred qualifications:
Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, EIA, TIA, BICSI industry standards, codes and best practices related to the design of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), low voltage, and telecommunications systems
Strong knowledge of structured cabling systems from a safety and constructability perspective
Strong knowledge of inside plant (ISP) cabling infrastructure to include telecommunications spaces and pathways, copper, and optical fiber cabling and connectivity
Experience in outside plant (OSP) design of copper and fiber optic communication systems
Experience in audio-visual (AV) system design
4+ years of experience designing applicable telecommunication systems
Minimum Qualifications
All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Certifications
Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification (required)
Certified Technology Specialist-Design (CTS-D) certification (preferred)
