The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in Cerner development and revenue cycle data to join a small, high-impact engineering team. This role is heavily focused on Cerner query development, script writing, and data extraction, supporting downstream analytics and operational use cases across healthcare revenue cycle functions.
This is a hands-on senior role for someone who can hit the ground running, thrive in a collaborative environment, and bring both technical depth and creative problem-solving to complex healthcare data challenges.

Essential Job Functions
  • Develop, write, and maintain Cerner queries and scripts to extract and deliver high-quality data from Cerner
  • Serve as a primary contributor for Cerner development and data extraction, with a strong emphasis on vendor and revenue cycle data
  • Work extensively with revenue cycle datasets, ensuring accurate representation of workflows across: Clinical data, Hospital Billing (HB), Physician/Professional Billing (PB/PV)
  • Collaborate closely with a small team of engineers to deliver reliable, scalable data solutions with significant downstream impact
  • Learn and utilize company-specific infrastructure and technology tools required to access Cerner and extract data
  • Participate in code reviews and design discussions, contributing best practices and architectural insight
  • Translate business and operational requirements into effective technical solutions
  • Ensure data accuracy, quality, and availability for key stakeholders

Employment Qualifications

4+ years of experience with Cerner development
6+ years of overall Data Engineering experience
Hands-on experience extracting data directly from Cerner, including vendor-specific data
Revenue Cycle Management experience within a healthcare environment

  • Cerner Command Language (CCL)
  • Strong understanding of how revenue cycle processes function within Cerner
  • Experience working with Cerner data models, including: Clinical data, Hospital Billing (HB), Physician/Professional Billing (PB/PV)
  • Strong Microsoft SQL experience
  • Preferred experience with Databricks, Azure, Python
  • Prior experience supporting downstream analytics, reporting, or operational workflows
  • Willingness and ability to learn new tools, technologies, and infrastructure to support Clarity access and data extraction
  • High attention to detail paired with the ability to think creatively and problem-solve.
  • This position pays between $101,600 - $175,200 based on experience
  • Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences.
