Job description

Facility: Dominican Hospital
Location: Santa Cruz, California
Practice Setting: Outpatient OB/GYN Clinic Only
EMR: Cerner
Contract Length: 3 months to start
Start Date: As soon as credentialed (Foundation privileges only; approx. days)

Opportunity Overview

Dominican Hospital is seeking a Board-Certified OB/GYN to provide full-time outpatient clinic coverage for an immediate locum need. This role is clinic-only with no required procedures and serves a primarily low-risk, underserved patient population. Bilingual providers are strongly preferred.

The ideal candidate will have recent laborist experience in addition to outpatient clinic experience, rather than a background focused primarily on gynecology or aesthetics.

Schedule & Coverage
  • Clinic Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00am 5:00pm (1-hour lunch)

  • Shifts Per Month: Full-time (5 days/week)

  • Patients Per Day: Approximately

  • Setting: Outpatient only (no procedures required)

Clinic Location

1505 Soquel Drive, Suite 1 & 5A
Santa Cruz, CA 95065

  • Clinic includes 3 suites with 2 exam rooms each

Support Staff
  • Full-time ultrasonographer with 30+ years of experience

  • Two experienced RNs supporting diabetic patients and NSTs

Additional Clinical & Facility Information
  • NICU Level III, with partnership through Lucile Packard Children s Hospital Stanford

  • Strong collaboration with Stanford specialists and community perinatologists/neonatologists

  • Patient population is mostly low-risk and underserved

  • Clinic experience required; recent laborist training strongly preferred

Candidate Preferences
  • Local candidates preferred (Greater Bay Area), though not required

  • Available to start as soon as credentialed

Travel Preferences
  • Local travel preferred but not required

  • Preferred hotels for lodging

  • Providers must disclose travel origin city and any travel exceptions at time of submission

  • Travel exception requests will not be approved unless disclosed upfront

Requirements
  • Board Certified OB/GYN REQUIRED

  • Active California Medical License REQUIRED

  • ACGME-Accredited Residency REQUIRED

  • DEA, BLS, ACLS REQUIRED

  • Clean Malpractice History REQUIRED

  • Availability confirmed at time of name clear REQUIRED

  • NPDB Self-Query (dated within 30 days of presentation) REQUIRED
