Job description

Regional Operations Manager


A leading industrial gas producer is seeking a Regional Operations Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple production facilities in the Southeastern United States. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, safety, production performance, regulatory compliance, and talent development across a network of Air Separation Unit (ASU) facilities.

This is a highly visible leadership position requiring significant travel throughout the region and close collaboration with plant leadership teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support Plant Managers across multiple production facilities.
  • Provide indirect leadership to Assistant Plant Managers, I&E Specialists, and Plant Operators.
  • Champion a culture of safety and operational excellence.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase production reliability and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor plant performance, production rates, uptime, and operational KPIs.
  • Support talent development, succession planning, and team engagement initiatives.
  • Oversee FDA and cGMP compliance programs where applicable.
  • Provide leadership during operational challenges and maintain 24/7 on-call oversight responsibilities.


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of operations leadership experience within industrial manufacturing or industrial gases.
  • Minimum 5 years of Air Separation Unit (ASU) operations experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams.
  • Experience managing multiple sites or locations preferred.
  • Strong understanding of safety, reliability, maintenance, and operational best practices.
  • Working knowledge of instrumentation, electrical, and control systems.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 50-75%.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with plant commissioning and startup activities.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or continuous improvement credentials.


Travel

  • 50-75% regional travel required.
  • Occasional travel to corporate offices and customer/vendor locations.
  • 24/7 on-call responsibility.
