SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
This position is a plant accounting oversight role for multiple manufacturing plants. The position also offers significant exposure to senior leadership and is a strong feeder role for future senior finance leadership, including Director-level opportunities.
This Regional Controller role, situated at our corporate headquarters, comes with the added opportunity to participate in cross-functional collaboration, finance systems and process optimization, and various analytics and business insights' analyses. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Regional Controllership Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight and financial leadership for assigned plants or regions, ensuring accurate and timely monthly close, reporting, and forecasting
  • Measure and record business transactions including General Ledger, A/P, Payroll, Inventory and Fixed Assets
  • Ensure that all reserves, write-offs and accruals are timely and appropriate
  • Review plant income statements, balance sheet accounts, and key operational metrics to identify risks and opportunities, and prepare monthly communications that summarize plant performance, including preparation of insightful variance analyses
  • Support capital project evaluation, tracking, and post-investment review
  • Challenge budgets and forecasts with an operational mindset to drive improved financial performance
  • Partner closely with Operations and Supply Chain leadership to support profitability, productivity, and capital discipline
  • Ensure adherence to corporate accounting policies, internal controls, and SOX and regulatory requirements
  • Facilitate internal and external audit requirements at the plant level

Business Optimization / Process Improvement Development Opportunities
  • Leverage data, analytics tools, and systems to answer key business questions and drive insight
  • Identify and implement leading practices that improve forecasting accuracy, working capital management, and reporting consistency
  • Analyze existing finance and operational workflows to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to streamline processes, improve data quality, reduce cost, and enhance decision support
  • Serve as a finance "utility player," supporting ad-hoc analyses and strategic initiatives for senior leadership

Two to three plant accountants will report to this position. Collaboration with plant managers and Operations Directors.
EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelors Degree (Accounting or Finance) or related field
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 5+ years progressive responsibility accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, with 2+ years of Plant Controllership responsibility
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Experience in manufacturing/standard cost accounting environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a process-oriented curious mindset
  • Advanced Excel and strong overall MS Office proficiency
  • Effective communicator, both verbally and written
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and time management abilities
  • Collaborative style with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence outcomes
  • Operational mindset and a desire to drive plant level profitability and continuous improvement
  • General ERP systems understanding, with Oracle E-Business Suite experience preferred

CAREER PATH / GROWTH POTENTIAL
This role is intended to be a launch point into broader finance leadership, with potential progression into other corporate finance leadership roles, including a Director-level finance leadership role in time.
